Open call for artist-made birdhouses!
Join us at the East Richmond Heights Art and Music Festival, to be held Saturday, August 1st, from 11am-5pm.
Last year we relocated our home to unincorporated East Richmond Heights. Nestled in the scenic hills above El Cerrito and Richmond, this quiet neighborhood features stunning views and abundant wildlife. We are thrilled to find ourselves here and to be partaking in this neighborhood event.
Our archive is housed in the library at SFMOMA and - by participating in this event - your name will be added to the archive!
The East Richmond Heights Art and Music Festival takes place each summer near the entrance of the Gyuto Foundation. The Festival does not have a website, but they do have an Instagram @erh.artfair. The event features food trucks, live music, and an array of artist vendors and non-for profit groups tabling at tents.
The event's location can most easily be found by routing yourself to the Gyuto Foundation:
6401 Bernhard Ave, Richmond, CA 94805
Artists who would like to make a birdhouse and participate must confirm by July 15th
Drop-off can happen anytime but must be received by no later than July 31st.
Traditionally, Pacific Saw Works operates with a 60/40% sales model, with 60% of sales going to the artist, and 40% going to PSW. With this unique, one-day event, we will honor the artist's usual 60%, Pacific Saw Works will receive 20%, and the remaining 20% will be donated to two organizations (who will also be at the Festival), Golden Gate Bird Alliance and International Bird Rescue.
We did some research when we started making birdhouses for this event and quickly learned that - for functioning, outdoor birdhouses - there's a lot of do's and don't's ! We have been using this website for guidance and suggest that you look into it.

We don't have strict guidelines in mind but please use your best judgement. Please nothing offensive, structurally unsound, or wildly oversized. Our booth/tent is small and there will be a lot of items, so try to keep things reasonable. If we've talked already and you're making something big/unique, that is exciting, just let me know your final dimensions when your piece is done.
Once we have a confirmed list of participants on July 15th, we will send over a very simple consignment form on Google Drive that we ask you to digitally sign. This will outline our consignment terms, including sales breakdown, liability, and return of works.
If you would like to participate, email us!
